Man Killer and Death Masks

I spent today catching up on projects. Sewing pirate shirts, editing jobs. This evening I've been working hard on expanding part of Man Killer. Basically, I'm taking a page of comment I made and turning it into a chapter of its own. Some of it I like. I didn't have a clear picture of all my characters on the first draft, which I have now. There's a few rough spots. I'm going out of town for the weekend, maybe I'll find better ways to say thing with a few days away.

I still love this story. It is my best work to date. Not to put down Death Masks, due out from Eternal Press next month. But I've grown so much since I first wrote that. I pray it's come through that one in the editing stages.

Glasses, working and sunshine

I finally have my new glasses on. What a difference! I broke the frames of the old one over Christmas. It surprised me to find out the prescription changed after only two years. No more headache either.

My review edits for My Shelf.com are in; so is the editing job for EP. Today I finished the last requested revisions from Eternal Press on Death Masks and sent those in. Tomorrow I'll work on the revisions requested for my story for Pretty-Scary. Sometimes it feels like you work and work, getting nowhere; then boom! You start finishing projects left and right. That's me this week with sewing and writing. It does feel good.

We have sunshine. YAY! Shemay and I spent a couple of hours outside. He chased neighbor cats and thought he was hunting a squirrel. I did some yard work and enjoyed a cup of coffee. We're both pretty content about now.

Special Announcement

I have some good news to announce. I've waited to let the word get out because we thought there might be a possibility of the Mountain Man's company sending him to Germany for two years. That as fallen through so there is no longer a need to rush around like crazy.

William and I are engaged to be married.

No date is set yet though it may be this fall or spring of '09. I'm thrilled and scared at the same time. Guess that's normal, huh?

What road does yonder blog take?

I finally worked on the look of this blog. I like it but wonder if it's too dark for most people. I mainly wanted to work with the colors in my header picture. The regular website at www.kim-richards.com deals with more of the pinks and tans.

The thing to do next is to figure out what the direction this blog takes. Livejournal is my blathering on about personal stuff for friends and family far away. Myspace is more writing related and some music. I have Goodreads for book reviews. So, I just don't know...yet. Ideas anyone?

Learning German

One of the things I'm doing this week is starting to learn German. So far I truly suck at it. LOL! I found one nice website which shows all the conjugation rules and has little charts. It's not very useful when you don't know how it supposed to sound. So, I found a couple of nice podcasts to listen to every day.

So, why am I learning German? Because we may be making a trip there soon. I figure I should start learning now and maybe I'll remember how to at least introduce myself. Grin.
